CENTAL MINNESOTA MAT RATS REPORT (18 ANNUAL)

Coaches, please keep me informed of your team's success throughout the season. With each edition, I would like to share their success in The Central MN Report. Please send relevant information for Class A individual and team ratings as well. I will also report your results to The Guillotine results page if you would like. Track wrestling was used by many people last year, please consider that as well. Late January Report

MAT RATS CLASS AAA TEAMS

SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS

The Knights topped a pair of Wright County Conference teams No. 6AA Hutchinson 62-6 and Mound-Westonka 58-9. They topped Mississippi 8 Conference rival No. 5AAA Cambridge-Isanti 40-10. The Knights continued to roll over their foes as they topped Section 7AAA foe Blaine 58-15 and Mississippi 8 Conference foe Rogers 60-6. They had a strong tourney performance with 238.5 points and all fourteen placing in the top four to win the Eden Prairie "Eagles" Invitational. Seven championships were won by Jake Briggs, Mark Voss, Michael Kessler, Lincoln Mallinger, Cole Sladek, Mitchell McKee and Tommy Thorn. Ricky Briggs, Aaron Dick and Tanner Mills all earned second place and Mitchel Herian, Ryan Rostamo both earned third place. Taking fourth place for the Knights were Randy Anderson and Owen Gammell. They topped three foes to earn the championship at the Forest Lake Ranger Duals. In the quarter-finals they topped LeSueur-Henderson 68-3, semifinals they topped AAA Forest Lake 51-3 and for the championship they topped No. 3AA Foley 44-12.


CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUEJACKETS

The Bluejackets topped Mississippi 8 conference rival Monticello 47-24 and dropped a dual to No. 1AAA ranked and Mississippi 8 rival Saint Michael-Albertville 40-10. The Jackets topped four foes at their "Bluejacket" dual meet invitational. They topped AA Lean and Mean North Branch 48-21, AAA Forest Lake 49-14, AA Lean and Mean Monticello 47-24 and No. 8AA ranked Perham 47-13. Ty Torgerson was 4-0 and going 3-0 at the Bluejacket duals were Russell LaBoe, Kyle Willette, Brady Kuntz, Monty Fredrickson and C. J. Schlictman.


MOORHEAD SPUDS

The Spuds had an awesome tournament performance with 279.5 points and all fourteen wrestlers placing in the top four to earn the Lake Park "Terry Teiken" Invitational. They won seven championships including' Joseph Grove, Grant Brendemuhl, Brody Jerome, Tommy Wychor, A. J. Wheeler, Joe Carpenter and Chase Morlock. Ethan Tallakson, Jacob Rositas, Kenny Mark and Sam Grove all earned second place. Landon Dickhaus and Ben Herbst earned third place and Taylor Laidlaw took fourth place.


LITTLE FALLS FLYERS

The Flyers topped Section 8AAA rivals Brainerd 48-24 and Sauk Rapids 44-22 and Granite Ridge AA Lean and Mean Mora 45-35. In  the Big Lake Triangular they topped the host Big Lake 38-29, AA Zimmerman 59-15 and AAA Buffalo 78-6. Connor Scherping, Jordan Petrone, Joe Reis and Conor Swanson were all 3-0. The Flyers went 2-1 at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with wins over Fergus Falls 48-26 and North Dakota foe Wahpeton 51-18 and they lost to Section 8AAA rival Moorhead 45-27. Axel Lange, Conner Scherping, Jordan Petron and Conor Swanson were all 3-0 at the Pudge Anderson Duals.


SARTELL SABRES

The Sabres topped a pair of Central Lakes Conference and AAA Lean and Mean rival Alexandria 29-28 and Lean and Mean AAA Willmar 32-31. They had a great performance despite missing a couple of their wrestlers as they topped three foes to win the Staples "Don Dravis" Duals. In the quarterfinal they topped Browerville 66-6, semifinals Quad County 31-28 and in the championship class Lean and Mean Kimball 39-26. Zach Pederson, Brady Goebel and Dan Vitale were all 3-0 and a special congratulations to Dan Vitale as he won his 100th Career match at the Staples event. The Sabres had a great tournament performance with 209.5 points and eleven placing in the top four to win the Spectrum "Sting" Invitational. Drew Bienusa, Zach Motschke, Garrett Counter and Brady Goebel all won championships. Danny Nyguen, Jon Pelach and Jake Fernholz all earned third place and Nathan Frank, Abe Anderson, Nick Jensen and Sam Krauel all took fourth place.


ALEXANDRIA CARDINALS

The Cardinals topped AA foe Melrose/Sauk Centre 51-13 and Section 8AAA rival Bemidji 36-27. They dropped a pair of duals to Section 8AAA rivals Little Falls 41-33 and to Sartell 29-28. Congratulations goes out to Trent Piepenburg as he won his 100th career match.


BRAINERD WARRIORS

The Warriors topped Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA rival St. Cloud Tech 45-22 and Rocori 62-12. They dropped a big dual to Section 8AAA rival Little Falls 48-24. The Warriors had a solid tournament performance with 178 points and eleven placing in the top five to earn second place at the Elk River "Elks" Invitational. Luke Boran and James Weiss both won championships and Bryton Mutz, Andy Schlosser and Jeff Flickinger all earned second place. Dillon Solid earned third place and Chris Laber and Matt Malloy earned fourth place. Taking fifth place was Cole DeRosier, Drew Bruen and Jake Zelinske.



WILLMAR CARDINALS

The Cardinals have been fighting thru injuries and sickness like many teams thru out the state. They dropped a pair of duals to Class A No. 5 ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 48-20 and to Class A Bold 38-34. The Cards dropped a two big Central Lakes Conference duals to Sartell 32-31 and to St. Cloud Tech 37-35. They were missing several individuals as they competed in the very tough Hutchinson "Tigers" Invitational where they had four place winners including Colten Carlson and Cass Herzog both won championships and Juan Resendez and Estavan Navarro both took fifth place. They topped Section 6AAA foe Buffalo 50-8 but dropped a close dual to Wayzata 36-27. Austin Miley and Colten Carlson were both 3-0 at the triangular.


ST. CLOUD TECH TIGERS

The Tigers have been on fire in their recent duals; they topped Central Lakes Conference rivals Willmar 37-35 and Fergus Falls 51-24. They did drop a conference dual to Brainerd 45-22.


ST. CLOUD APOLLO EAGLES

The Eagles had the week off although they did have one dual with No. 5A ranked Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg and they lost 53-17 and they did top Class A Ortonville 69-12.


BEMIDJI LUMBERJACKS

The Lumberjacks topped AA Fosston-Bagley 54-18 and Class A Blackduck/Cass Lake/Bena 46-21. They dropped a pair of duals to Section 8AAA foes Alexandria 36-27 and to Little Falls 45-21. They had a great tournament performance with 191 points to earned second place at the Thief River Falls "Prowler" Invitational. Alex Johnson, Kade Johnson and Logan Crosby all won championships and Dylan Sauceda earned second place. Brian Mass earned third place, Tyler O'Beirne and Criag Mass both earned fourth place and Brody Willander took fifth place. The Lumberjacks  dropped a very close dual to No. 11A ranked Badger/Greenbush-Middle River 39-34.


SAUK RAPIDS STORM

The Storm dropped three duals at the Little Falls "Flyer" Quadrangular, they dropped a dual to Central Lakes conference foe Little Falls 48-22, No. 7A ranked Pierz 55-18 and Class A Paynesville 40-29. They had a great tournament with 180.5 points to earn second place at the Spectrum "Sting" Invitational with ten placing in the top five. Korey Keske, Austin Walz, Chris Keske, Dylan Vait and Trent Klejeske all won championships. Matthew Kruger earned second place, Tony Bemboom and Charley Rudy both earned third place, Adam Gessell earned fourth place and Tristen Emery took fifth place.



ELK RIVER ELKS

The Elks topped Conference foe Maple Grove 46-22. They had an awesome tournament performance with 201 points to win their "Elks" Invitational with eleven placing in the top four. Garrett Caldon, Evan Caldon and Kyle Ziemer all won championships and Cole Moening, Justin Gagnon and Garrett VanEps all earned second place. Ben Gibas, Andrew Perry, Jacob Brown and Christian Tobin all earned third place and Bob Schmitz took fourth place.


ROGERS ROYALS

The Royals topped Mississippi 8 Conference foe Buffalo 43-27 and they dropped a pair of duals to a conference foe No. 1AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 60-6 and  AAA Blaine 63-12.They topped AAA East Ridge 39-37 and Minneapolis Roosevelt 55-6. On the 26th they topped Fridley 48-27 and Washington Tech. 54-21


ROCORI SPARTANS

The Spartans dropped a pair of Central Lakes Conference duals to Brainerd 62-12 and a very close one to Fergus Falls 34-33. The Spartans topped Section 6AAA Robbinsdale Cooper 47-22 and they dropped a pair of Section 6AAA duals to Wayzata 57-19 and Mound-Westonka 25-19.


BUFFALO BISON

The Bison dropped a Mississippi 8 Dual to Rogers 43-27. The Bison had one place winner at the Totino Grace "Eagles" Invitational and that was one championship won by Adam Treptau.


MAT RATS CLASS A TEAMS

ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS

The Falcons topped No. 3AA ranked Foley 44-21, West Central Conference rival BOLD 57-6 and Section 5A rival Paynesville 55-12. They had a good performance with 162 points and eleven placing in the top five at the Hutchinson tournament. Logan Peterson and Larry Bomstad both won championships and Lee Whitcomb, Maverick Whitcomb and Lucas Damm all earned second place. Robert Rasmussen and Derek Dengerud both earned fourth place and Jesse Rogers, Mathew Whitcomb, Jordan Nelson and Jordan Fester all took fifth place. The Falcons had an impressive performance as they won the West Central Conference championship with 235 points and thirteen placing in the top five. Six conference championships were won by Robert Rasmussen, Logan Peterson, Larry Bomstad, Maverick Whitcomb and Lucas Damm. Derek Dengerud had a great tourney, with his performance he earned second place. Rylan Molinaro and Jordan Nelson both earned third place and Jesse Rogers and Mathew Whitcomb earned fourth place. Taking fifth place for the Falcons were Ehtan Houseman and Jordan Fester.

KERKHOVEN MURDOCK SUNBURG FIGHTING SAINTS

The Saints topped Section 3A rival BOLD 56-15 and AAA Lean and Mean rival Willmar 48-20. They topped Camden conference foe Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 61-12. In a huge match for the Fighting Saints they topped AAA St. Cloud Apollo 53-17 and section 3A foe Ortonville 76-6.  In the Apollo match Zach Carlson upset the defending AAA state champion in a very exciting overtime match. They had a big win over No. 7A ranked section 3A foe Minneota 38-17. They topped AA foe Quad County 43-10 for a perfect dual meet record thus far.


PIERZ PIONEERS

The Pioneers topped AA Pine City/Hinckley Finlayson 57-9 and section 7A foe Ogilvie 66-6. In the Pioneers quadrangular they topped section 7A foe Crosby-Ironton 50-15, Class A foe Paynesville 53-12 and AAA Sauk Rapids 55-18. Brandon Sullivan, Chris Ortman, Jordan Goebel, Brad Meyer, Josh Lanners and Nick Lochner were all 3-0 at the quad. They topped 5A foe Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 60-9 and Section 7A rival Mille Lacs 70-12. The Pioneers had a great showing at the South St. Paul Tornament with 185.5 points and twelve place in the top six in this sixteen team tourney to earn second place. Evan Woitalla and Brad Meyer both won championships and Josh Lanners earned second place. Travis Johnson, Ryley Smude and Chris Ortman all earned third place, Brett Kapsner, Jordan Goebel, Nick Lochner and Brando Sullivan all earned fourth place. Brandon Ortman earned fifth place and Curtis Brisk took sixth place.


HOLDINGFORD HUSKERS

The Huskers topped AA Zimmerman 45-28 before dropping a dual to No. 3AA Foley 46-28. They topped Central Minnesota conference rival Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 39-27. They did drop a dual to Class A Lean and Mean and Conference rival Kimball 33-30, the Huskers were without the services of three starters in the Kimball dual. They topped three foes at the Browerville duals; the Class A lean and mean Border West 46-25, section 5A foe Browerville 55-17 and section 6A foe West Central Area 57-20. Zach Scott, Trevor Scott, Kyle Gerads, Matt Messman and Mitch Messman were all 3-0 at the Tiger Duals.


UNITED NORTH CENTRAL WARRIORS

The Warriors topped Park Region Conference rivals Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 43-19 and Otter Central 48-12. They topped AA Lean and Mean Pequot Lakes/Pine River/Backus 33-30 and AA United Clay Becker 51-21. The Warriors earned second place at the Mahnomen-Waubun "Cougar" Duals with a win in the quarterfinal over Mahnomen-Waubun 58-11 and in the semifinals over AA Crookston 45-24. They dropped their championship dual to No. 11A and Section 8A rival Badger/Greenbush-Middle River 43-26. Jake Malone and Taylor Carlson were both 3-0 at the Cougar duals.




NEW YORK MILLS EAGLES

The Eagles topped Park Region Conference and section 6A rival Ottertail Central 53-10. They had a bit of a struggle with sickness as has many teams; during that time they took on No.10A ranked and section 6A rival Barnesville and they lost 52-10, Class A lean and mean Border West and came up short 45-31 and to Park Region Conference and Class A lean and mean foe Osakis and came up short 39-30. They dropped a dual to AA lean and mean Pequot Lakes/Pine River/Backus 45-24. The Eagles had a very good tournament performance with 153.5 points to earn fourth place at the Thief River Falls "Prowler" Invitational with seven place winners. Shane Novak won their lone championship and Tyler Patron earned second place. Max Carlson and Noah Pesola both earned third place, Taylor Ericksrud earned fourth place. Brian Pyle and Gunner Flynn both took sixth place. 


BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS

The Jaguars topped section 5A foe Minnewaska 39-30 and they dropped a dual to Central Minnesota Conference foe Holdingford 39-27. They had a great tournament with 174 points and twelve place winners to earn third place at the New London-Spicer "Wildcats" Invitational. Tyler Tensen and Patrick Rooney both won championships and Josey Tensen earned second place. Alex Schramel, Matt Schmitz and Austin Jaeger all earned third place, Colby Schramel, Ben Thompson and Ben Feuerhake all earned fourth place. Kaleb Voss and Lee Borgerding both took fifth place at the Wildcat tourney. The Jaugars went 3-0 at the Browerville "Tiger" Duals with wins over section 6A foe West Central Area 55-22, Class A Lean and Mean Border West 40-30 and Section 5A foe Browerville 46-18. Tyler Tensen, Alex Schramel, Ben Thompson and Patrick Rooney were all 3-0 at the Tiger duals.


BORDER WEST BUCCANEERS

The Buccaneers topped section 6A foes New York Mills 45-31 and Wadena-Deer Creek 54-15. They dropped a pair of duals at the Browerville "Tiger" Duals; to a pair of class A lean and mean teams Holdingford 46-25 and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 40-30. They had four place winners at the Lisbon Invitational to earn sixth place with 145.5 points. Cameron Sykora, Gus McCarthy and Austin Maanum all won championships and Tracer Lee earned third place.

KIMBALL CUBS

The Cubs haven't had all the wrestlers on the mat yet this season, yet they are having a pretty good season. They did top class A lean and mean Central Minnesota Conference rival Holdingford 33-30. They dropped a dual to the No. 3AA ranked Foley 43-22. They earned second place at the Staples-Motley "Don Dravis" Duals with their quarterfinal win over section 5A foe Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 49-24 and in the semifinals AA Staples-Motley 40-21. In the championship they came up a little short to AA foe Sartell 39-26. Marcus Hamer, Markus Mehr and Austyn Schlueter were all 3-0 at the Don Dravis duals. The Cubs went 1-2 at the Fergus Falls "Pudge Anderson" Duals with wins over Fergus Falls 54-22 and AA Thief River Falls 50-19 before falling to No. 2AAA ranked Apple Valley 56-9. Travis Wills was the lone wrestler to go 3-0 at the Pudge Anderson duals.

OSAKIS SILVERSTREAKS

The Silverstreaks have been on a bit of a roll as of late as they topped Park Region Conference rival New York Mills 39-30 and section 6A foe West Central Area 57-22, they did drop a big section 5A dual to Paynesville 39-26. The Silverstreaks topped three foes at the Silverstreaks duals with wins over section 5A rival Howard Lake Waverly Winsted 53-24, section 3A Benson 54-27 and AA Albany 48-27. Brenden Coyer, Trenton Coyer, Colton Waldvogel, Brandon Spanswick, Nils Hagen, Mitch Sunder and Peter Hagen were all 3-0 at their dual meet invitational.


BERTHA-HEWITT/VERNDALE RAIDERS

The Raiders topped Park Region Conference foes Royalton 38-34 and Prairie Valley 43-21. They topped section 6A rival Pelican Rapids 42-30 and AA rival Staple-Motley 46-28. They earned 87.5 points at the New London-Spicer "Wildcat" Invitational with seven place winners. Dalton Baker won their lone championship, Hunter Truax earned second place, Zach Waln earned third place. Anthony Kern earned fourth place and Justin Gordan, Ethan Kimber and Charlie Nienaber all took fifth place.


BOLD WARRIORS

The Warriors topped Class A lean and mean Zumbrota-Mazeppa 35-27 and AAA lean and mean Willmar 38-34. The dropped a pair of duals to No.2A Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 58-6 and to No. 5A Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 58-15. They had a very impressive showing at the West Central Conference tourney where they earned second place with 158.5 points and nine place winners. Brady Zitzmann and Alex Hatch both won championships and Chaz Roush and Ben Steffel both earned second place. Brett Grund, Manuel Garcia and Trevor Nissan all earned third place, Chris Carnes earned fourth place and Joel Erickson took fifth place.

AITKIN GOBBLERS

The Gobblers topped Section 7A foes Crosby-Ironton 43-22 and Mille Lacs 62-9 and they top Great River Conference foe Pine City/Hinckley-Finlayson 40-31. The Gobblers had a great tournament performance at the Grand Rapids Tournament with 195.5 points and twelve place winners. Jack Braton, Brian Wold, Jerad Novak and Isaac Novak all won championships and Dan Nordeen earned second place. Tyler Bare earned fourth place and Chris Jackson, Alan Bast, Jonah Perrine, Kyle Lynn and Jordan Fiske all took fifth place.


PAYNESVILLE BULLDOGS

They topped Section 7A foe Crosby-Ironton 51-27 and AAA foe Sauk Rapids 40-29. They dropped a dual to No. 7A ranked Pierz 53-12 and West Central Conference No. 2A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 55-12. In a key dual they topped section 5A foe Osakis 39-26. The Bulldogs earned fifth place with 105 points at the West Central Conference tournament. Caleb Burris won their lone championship, Jacob Mages and Tanner Harder both earned third place. Derek Ludwig earned fourth place and Jared Kunstleben, Alex Whitcomb, Anthony Wendlant and Michael Ludwig all took fifth place.


Royalton Royals

The Royals topped Park Region Conference foes Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 54-21 and Prairie Valley 63-15. They did drop a close dual to conference rival Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 38-34. The Royals had a good tourney showing as they scored 150 points to earned fifth place at the Elk River "Elks" Invitational. Mitch Lange, Cory Wensmann and Tony Gadacz all won championships and Brad Knoll earned second place. Michael Petron earned third place, Joe Jensen and Matt Neu both earned fourth place and Shawn Urbanski and Ty Held both took fifth place.


MAT RATS CLASS AA TEAMS

FOLEY FALCONS

The Falcons topped two Section 6AA teams in their quad; New London-Spicer 42-24, Albany 57-20 and Granite Conference rival Mora 33-30. Tristan Manderfeld, Tyler Midas, Mitch Struffert and Cameron Svihla were all 3-0 at their quad. They topped Section 7AA foe Zimmerman 64-12, Class A lean and mean teams Holdingford 46-28 and Kimball 44-24. They dropped a dual to the No. 2A ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 44-21. They earned second place at the Forest Lake "Rangers" Duals with their quarterfinal win over AAA Stillwater 44-15 and the No. 5 ranked Ellsworth, WI 31-27 before dropping the championship to the No. 1AAA ranked Saint Michael-Albertville 44-12. Tristan Manderfeld, Mitch Keeler and Brandon Halverson were all 3-0 at the Ranger duals.


NEW LONDON-SPICER WILDCATS

The Wildcats topped two section 6AA teams; Annandale/Maple Lake 37-27 and Albany 31-12 and Section 7AA Mora 48-21. They did drop a dual to the No. 3AA ranked Section 6AA rival Foley 42-24. The Wildcats had an impressive showing as they earned 206.5 points and had eleven place in the top five to win their "Wildcat" Invitational. Thomas Stageberg, Jakob Stageberg, Oden Rogers and Jarrett Hatlestad all won championships and Treyton Austvold, Logan Brink, Logan Eckhoff and Brandon Knisley all earned second place. Corbin Schwartz earned third place and Noah Welsh earned fourth place and Rick Berry took fifth place. They topped a pair of Wright County Conference foes Delano 53-20 and Orono 40-11.


BECKER BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs topped Granite Ridge Conference foe Albany 63-9. They earned second place at the Tartan "Titans" dual meet invitational with a quarterfinal win over Roseville 70-12 and in the semifinals they topped Section 7AA foe Grand Rapids 51-17. In the championship they dropped a close dual to the No. 4AA ranked New Prague 37-30. Luke Schmalz, Eric Dudek and Kreston Gammon were all 3-0 at the Titan duals.


PEQUOT LAKES/PINE RIVER/BACKUS ROAD CREW

The Road Crew topped New York Mills 45-24 and they dropped a very close dual to Class A lean and mean United North Central 33-30. The Road Crew had a very impressive showing with 218 points and thirteen placing in the top three to win the Mid-State Conference tournament. Anthony Philipson, Nate Adkins, Nick Gravdahl, Drey Loge and Justin Mackenthun all won championships.  Drey Loge was name the Outstanding Wrestler for his excellent performance. Ozzie Miller, Dillon Nichols and Jared Adkins all earned second place. Spencer Richards, Tristan Rubner, Caedel Roeder and Kurt Kent all earned third place.


ANNANDALE-MAPLE LAKE LIGHTNING

They topped a pair of Wright County Conference rivals Delano 49-20 and Orono. The Lightning had a very good performance at the Eden Prairie "Eagles" Invitational with 135.5 point to earned third place. Teddy Erickson won their only championship and Tanner Vassar, Joe Mosley and Jordan Hanan all earned second place. Spencer Ogden and Tom Condon both earned third place, Nick Anderson earned fourth place and Isaac Hendrickson took fifth place. The Lightning topped three foes at the Robbinsdale Cooper "Sohn" Duals; Minneapolis Southwest 66-3, Fillmore County Central 36-15 and Goodhue 36-15.


MILACA WOLVES

The Wolves topped Granite Ridge Conference foes Princeton 43-18 and Albany 58-13. Section 7AA rival Pine City/Hinckley-Finlayson 61-9 and Class A neighbor Mille Lacs 62-13.


CHISAGO LAKES

The Wildcats had four place winners at the Eastview "Lightning" Invitational; Kyle Schoenecker won a championship, Joe Virga and Jonah Westbury both earned second place and Dylan Connell earned third place. The Wildcats earned third place with 170 points ten place winners at their "Legends" invitational. Dylan Connel, Quade Zupko, Joe Virga and Jonah Westbury all won championships. Kyle Schoenecker earned second place and Sean Hoyt and Eric Brown both earned third place. Aaron Sistnink and Bill Michelke both earned fourth place and Nathan Graeve took fifth place.


GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE PANTHERS

The Panthers had 111.5 points at the Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial "Knights" Invitational to take seventh place. Mitchell Hartwig and Dalton Clouse both won championships, Michael Donnay earned second place. John Williams earned fourth place and Dylan Melchert took fifth place. The Panthers have had some impressive dual meet wins over Section 2AA rival St. Peter 44-31 and Mankato West 42-18. They topped Wright County Conference Mound-Westonka 42-18. In a very good dual meet they came up just short against Section 2AA foe and No. 4AA ranked New Prague 39-32.


 NORTH BRANCH VIKINGS

The Vikings topped North Suburban Conference foes Fridley 65-7 and Benilde-Saint Margaret's 59-12. They also had two big wins over section 7AA rivals Grand Rapids 35-27 and Nashwauk-Keewatin 60-10. The Vikings topped AA Lean and Mean Monticello 36-26, they dropped a pair of duals to No. 5AAA ranked Cambridge-Isanti 48-21 and to AAA Forest Lake 45-21. They had a impressive tourney performance with 201.5 points to earned second place at the Grand Rapids "Skip Nalan" Invitational. Eric Bergstrom, Seamus Hunter and Zack Sundly all won championships. Reed Johnson, Aaron Senne and Jake Pilz all earned second place. Tom Steel and Tristan LaBelle both earned third place, Zach Johnson earned fourth place and Cameron Sampson took fifth place.


BIG LAKE HORNETS

The Hornets topped Mississippi 8 and AA Lean and Mean rival Monticello 36-29 in a very good dual. They topped a pair of AA foes at the Melrose trianguler; Montevideo 52-10 and Sauk Centre/Mel 45-25.  They topped two teams in their quadrangular Conference foe Buffalo 59-18 and Zimmerman 47-15 and they dropped a close one to Lean and Mean AAA Little Falls 38-29. Daulton Stringer and A. J. Sandford were both 3-0 at the quad. The Hornets had a great tourney performance with 194 points and thirteen place winners in the top five to earned second place at the Chisago Lakes "Wildcat Legends" Invitational. Cody Knaeble won their lone championship, Logan Donias, Josiah Brown and Phil Duncan all earned second place. Tristan Jacuqe, Daulton Stringer, Wyatt Juhl, Cole Knaueble, Brandon Holthaus and Colton Pollock all earned third place. Phil Duncan earned fourth place and Alex Neeser took fifth place.


MONTICELLO MAGIC

The Magic topped a pair of foes Section 5AA rival Rockford 57-15 and Minneapolis Washburn 75-6. They dropped a Mississippi 8 Conference dual to rival Big Lake 36-29 and to No. 10 AAA Coon Rapids 38-32. The Magic went 0-4 at the Cambridge-Isanti "Bluejackets duals; where they dropped duals to Cambridge-Isanti No. 5AAA ranked, Perham 39-35 No. 8AA ranked, North Branch 36-26 AA Lean and Mean and to AAA Forest Lake 47-31. Logan Stiller and Zach Beaumaster were both 4-0 at the Bluejacket duals and Carter Barnes, Jake Berthiaume, Seth Gardner, Tevin Zavadil and Brent Riddle were all 3-1. The dropped a Mississippi 8 dual to rival No. 5AAA ranked Cambridge-Isanti 49-18. The Magic did have a great tourney showing with 167 points and eleven place winners to earned third place at the sixteen team South St. Paul "Pete Veldman" Invitational. Jake Berthiaume won their lone championship, Carter Barnes and Zach Beaumaster both earned second place. Logan Stiller and Seth Gardner both earned third place, Tevin Zavadil, Jeremiah Yeats and Brent Riddle all earned fourth place. William Pribyl and Jack Bourgeois were both fifth  and Cooper Hanson took sixth place.

MORA MUSTANGS

The Mustangs dropped a pair of Granite Ridge Conference duals a very close one to No. 3AA ranked Foley 33-30 and to AAA Lean and Mean Little Falls 45-35. They also dropped a dual to No. 9AA ranked New London-Spicer 48-21. They Mustangs topped two Section 7AA rivals Princeton 57-18 and Rush City/Braham 54-21.


FERGUS FALLS OTTERS

The Otters topped Central Lakes Conference rival Rocori 34-33. They went 0-4 at the Pudge Anderson Duals; dropping a dual to Section 8AA rival Thief River Falls 42-22, Kimball 54-22, Wahpeton, ND 33-30 and to AAA Little Falls 48-26. Abbot Aho, Tyler Giza and Abram Aho were all 4-0 and Gus Makovsky went 3-0 at the Pudge Anderson duals. The Otters had a great tourney with 142.5 points to earn second place at the Lake Park "Terry Teiken" Invitational with eight place winners. Abbot Aho and Tyler Giza both won championships and Abram Aho earned second place. Ben Schindler, Walker Heinen and Gus Makovsky all earned third place, Taylor Tenner earned fourth place and Joe Wedll took fifth place.


LITCHFIELD DRAGONS

The Dragons topped three Wright County Conference foes Mound-Westonka 39-35, Delano 48-24 and Orono 47-11. They dropped a conference dual to Waconia 36-22. The Dragons had a great tourney with131.5 points to earn fourth place at the Totino Grace "Eagles" Invitational. Devan Nelson and Nathan King both won championships and Tyler Jones earned second place.  Walker Kaping, Ryan Anderson and Max Kaping  earned third place and Jake Kalkbrenner and Luis Lepe both earned fourth place.



DAWSON-BOYD/LQPV UNITED

The United topped Sauk Centre/Melrose 46-21 in a West Central Conference encounter. They were 3-1 at the Plum Creek Duals with wins over section 3AA foes FMCC 49-22, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 51-25 and Marshall 40-39 and they did dropped one dual to No. 7A ranked Minneota 42-33. Jordan Bothun, Jordan Staab and Brandon Schmidt were all 4-0 and Dan Bothun, Joe Weeding and Dalton Palmer were all 3-1 at the Plum Creek duals. The United had 104.5 points to earned sixth place at the West Central Conference tournament with six place winners, including one championship by Brandon Schmidt. Jordan Staab earned second place, Jordan Bothun, Keith Abraham and Joe Weeding all earned third place and Don Bothun earned fourth place.
